Family and Children’s Society of Broome County

Services Provided: Services provided are home studies and post-placement reports for local families (Southern Tier Region of NY) seeking domestic or international placements through other agencies or independent adoption.  Counseling is also provided for individuals and families with adoption issues.

The Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference

Services Provided: The Homefinding and Adoption Unit at the Children’s Home of Wyoming Conference provides certification, training and maintenance of approximately 130 foster/adoptive homes throughout Broome County and surrounding areas. The Adoption Unit facilitates the adoptive process for children who have become freed for adoption through Broome County Family Court and who are enrolled in the Children’s Home Close to Home foster care program. The agency processes inquiries, provides a monthly informational meeting for interested community members and offers the 10 week GPSII/MAPP certification course, along with Deciding Together, a one on one certification offering.
