Services Provided: Provides child placement programs including domestic infant and international programs. Conducts home studies for prospective families throughout NYS, OH and FL interested in pursuing a domestic agency adoption, private adoption, international adoption and kinship adoption. Home study includes educational classes. International programs include Hungary and Bulgaria. Additional services include pre adoption education and support, Family STAR – A full service post adoption support program providing clinical counseling, support groups and nationwide post adoption contact correspondence services. Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services

Services Provided: 30 hour Mapp classes held 2x a year in the spring and fall. Completed physical required prior to attending training.  Orientations held as needed.  Next training spring of 2005.  Monthly inservice training for certified parents, child care provides.  Current and prospective parents receive mthly newsletter with upcoming training dates.


New Directions Youth & Family Services

Services Provided:  New Directions Foster Care and Adoption Services provides a temporary, supportive environment for children who either have no family resources, or who, for a variety of reasons cannot live with their birth families. During their time with us, we identify and prepare a permanent home for children freed for adoption, or help birth families heal and develop a safe, nurturing environment to which their children can return. When children are freed for adoption, we actively engage families seeking to adopt and assist them through the process.
