Waiting Child (NY and interstate adoption from the foster care system); Intercountry (Hague Accredited) homestudies and post-placement reports; Newborn homestudies and placement services. Family Services of Westchester

Services Provided: Full service adoption agency providing home studies and post placement services for domestic and international adoption. No set fee schedule, will work with families on payment arrangements and develop cooperative service relationships with other agencies. Orientation held monthly, Agency has full range of counseling and support services for adoptive families including a pre-adoption support group.


Nassau County Department of Social Services

Services Provided: 30 hour, 10 week MAPP training course held 4X a year. Physical required prior to training. Three personal & employment references and income verification required. Homestudy and paperwork completed during training, goal is to complete certification within 6 months. Orientations 8X yearly on last Thurs. of the month. 4 recruitment fairs annually at public location. Need families for teens 12+ and sibling groups. Mentors needed for Mentoring program for teen parents and foster care youth 5+.


Nassau County Department of Social Services

Services Provided: 30 hour, 10 week MAPP training held 4X a year. Physical req prior to training. Three personal & employment references and income verification required. Homestudy and paperwork completed during training, Sandra is contact for Spanish speaking families in Nassau County. Sandra is a MAPP trainer and will work with Spanish speaking families. All materials available in Spanish, orientation and training can be done one on one. Spanish speaking families should contact Sandra instead of regular homefinding contact.


New Beginnings Family and Children’s Services, Inc

Services Provided: From the beginning of the adoption process through the post-adoption stage, New Beginnings provides comprehensive international adoption services required for a successful adoptive placement. We will manage your paperwork and your home study. We will coordinate the different parties so our mutual interests coincide. We will prepare you for the placement and provide support once the child is home.

Spence-Chapin Adoption Services

Services Provided: Multi service adoption agency providing homestudies & post placement supervision for private domestic, intnl, special needs adoption within 100 miles of NYC metro area. Private African-American / Hispanic Adoption Programs available. Caller will be directed to appropriate program staff. Services include information and service referral, pre and post adoption workshops/events, and parent / child support groups. Wide Horizons for Children

Services Provided: Main NYS office of Massachusetts Based Adoption Agency which provides domestic and international adoption support and counseling services. Includes adoption information meetings and educational events in several locations in New York State. They work cooperatively with local NYS licensed agencies to provide home study and post-placement services to families outside their service area. Other offices in Albany and NYC.


You Gotta Believe!

Services Provided: Multi county agency that contracts with ACS and surrounding counties to train and find homes for older kids 10+. Orientation held at multiple locations throughout the NY metro area each week. Call our office Monday through Friday during business hours at or email for more information. Families can begin 10 week training course same day/evening they attend orientation. Families taking course must agree to older child placement. Will send copies of home studies out of state and attempt to develop contract relationships with out of state agencies.
