Catholic Charities of Buffalo

Services Provided: They provide 30 hours joint foster/adoption MAPP class 2x yr. in Spring & Fall. Use shorter training program of 5 or 6 wk individual meetings for private adoptions and may for others rather than have family wait for next MAPP training. $100 adoption application fee and $2,000 for home study services. Will develop purchase of service contracts with agencies for special needs adoption, no fee to parents. No Spanish language services available.


Catholic Family Center

Services Provided: Full Service agency – assists with domestic infant, international, older/special needs and adoptions. Comprehensive information about all aspects of adoption. Initial confidential interviews, home studies, post-placement services,complete documentation for legalization as required by the court. Will act as a liaison for adoptive parents with international agencies, and assist them in meeting the requirements for U.S. immigration and consult with attorneys for adoptive parents in private adoption cases. Fees for home study and CFC placements are based on a sliding fee scale or a flat rate, depending on the type of adoption. Information meetings held monthly

Hillside Children’s Center

Services Provided: Information and referral on all aspects of adoption and foster care and support to concerned individuals and organizations. Will assist families interested in a waiting child to obtain training and home studies. Services include annual conference, international / domestic homestudies, birthmother support network, search support for birth families, monthly homestudy and information classes, and pre & post adoption parent support groups. Youth support groups also available.


Wyoming County Department of Social Services

Services Provided: 20 hour pre-certification training course held twice a year (spring and fall). Meets 2 x weekly for 4 weeks. Callers are invited to individual orientation meeting and placed on waiting list for next training class. Homestudy done after application packet and training class completed. County will assist local families to complete training in neighboring counties/agencies if no upcoming local class scheduled.
