Children Awaiting Parents (CAP)’s annual Derby Party will be bigger and better than ever, celebrating 45 years of finding homes for waiting foster children! On Friday, May 5, 2017, CAP’s Kentucky Derby style gala will be held at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center, 123 E Main St, Rochester, NY 14604, from 6-10pm. The event will feature CAP’s version of a horse race game, silent auction, live music, dancing, mint juleps, and a sit-down dinner.

 

The event will recognize Don Alhart, of WHAM-13 ABC, for helping CAP’s waiting youth find adoptive homes for over 30 years through a weekly segment called “Friday’s Child”. CAP will also honor one of our founders and longtime supporters for 45 years of championing the cause of foster youth.

 

Emcees Scott Spezzano and Sandy Waters of 98.9 the Buzz and race caller Tony Calo from Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack will make CAP’s Derby Party an exciting event you won’t want to miss!

 

CAP’s three wooden horse races are a lot of fun to watch and guests will have the opportunity to choose the horse they think will win for a chance at an exciting prize! Sign up now to become a horse owner and name a wooden horse that will compete during the event.
