Erie County Adoption Resource Center (ECARC)

Services Provided: Hillside Children’s Center Erie County Adoption Resource Center offers a continuum of post adoption services. Services include family assessment to identify child and family needs, individualized service planning, and advocacy to identify and obtain needed services. ECARC offers regular parent support groups, training programs, and telephone resource support. The support group is open to all adoptive families regardless of which agency or attorney you are, or were, affiliated with. We offer support to Kinship, private, foster care and international adoptive families.


Hillside Children’s Center Adoption Support Services

Services Provided: Information and referral on all aspects of adoption and foster care and support to concerned individuals and organizations. Will assist families interested in Child Focused adoption to obtain training and home studies. Services include international / domestic homestudies,  monthly homestudy and information classes, and pre & post adoption parent support groups.


The Parent Network of Western NY

Services Provided: Parent Network of WNY is a community resource for families of individuals with special needs and for professionals who work with these families. Parent Network’s goal is to empower families to successfully advocate for their children with special needs and to see that they receive proper care and education by offering seminars, workshops, conferences, information and referral services and resources. Parent Network is designated as a Technical Assistance Parent Center by NYS Education Department and receives funding from several sources. Services include comprehensive one-on-one support, workshops and conferences on various special education and parenting topics. Western New York Foster and Adoptive Families Association, Inc.

Services Provided: WNYFAFA is an independent organization of certified f/a parents. We aim for the better care of f/a children, to establish and improve communication between f/a parents and all community systems and educate the community about child welfare issues. We offer trainings, support group meetings, respite services, provide clothing, an annual cookout, holiday celebration and other events to promote social interaction.In addition, all f/a families in WNY may access the group to resolve issues and concerns. Western NY DDSO – OPWDD

Services Provided: Family Support Services Coordinators are available at each of OPWDD’s regional Developmental Disabilities Services Offices (DDSOs) to help families access Family Support Services.  Family Support Services can help in times of crisis when a family member or loved one becomes ill, or when things get difficult at home for other reasons. Find out more information about these services and supports by calling your local Family Support Services Coordinator.  Support services may include: information and referral, family and individual counseling, recreation, after-school programs, support groups, transportation and specialized equipment and home modifications.
