Children’s Home of Jefferson County – St Lawrence Program

Services Provided: The program recruits and trains prospective Foster Parents. Following a referral made by the appropriate county’s Department of Social Services, the program assists in youth placement. Once a youth is matched with a family, ongoing oversight, support, and casework services are provided. All prospective Foster Parents are required to complete a ten-week certification program. To assist in times of crisis, prospective Foster Parents are also trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. To ensure a continuum of learning, once certified, Foster Parents are required to attend ongoing trainings.


St Lawrence County Department of Social Services

Services Provided: 11 week modified MAPP course offered twice a year (Spring & Fall). Orientation meetings held in the afternoon and evening of the first Monday of every month at the county office building. Homestudy provided upon completion of training. County will contribute $30 toward the cost of physicals and pay for mandated housing code enforcement inspection. Families needed for teens and sibling groups.
