Leake and Watts Services, Inc

Services Provided: Family Foster Care programs provide safe and nurturing homes to over 400 vulnerable children and teens in the Bronx as well as in other New York City boroughs, Westchester County and upstate New York. Our services are dedicated to the growing and changing needs of the children in our care as well as those who support them and include Family Foster Care, Specialized Medical Family Foster Care, Whenever possible, children are placed with relatives or close family connections such as godparents (Kinship Foster Care) to keep children connected to their families and reduce the trauma of sudden placement away from birth parents. Therapeutic Family Foster Care is a family-focused, community-based alternative to residential and institutional care for children who have serious emotional and/or behavioral conditions. Foster parents are given comprehensive training on behavior modification techniques as well as access to a 24-hour support team that assists with crisis intervention.


Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York

New Alternatives for Children, Inc

Services Provided: NAC is in need of mature, committed adults residing in NYC, Long Island and Weschester to become foster parents for children with medical needs. Weekly daytime and evening Foster Parent orientations available. NAC has consistently been rated as one of the best foster care agencies in the state and is the only agency in NYS that exclusively serves children with medical needs. Services include 24 hour access to staff, on-site medical, mental health, & transportation services; and one-on-one training with medical staff.


Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services

Services Provided:The Ohel Milton Schulman Foster Care Program provides a range of continual support services to the foster child and foster parents from birth to age 21. Services include Case Management, Educational Services, Psychological Services, Medical Care and Homefinding


Seamen’s Society for Children and Families

Sheltering Arms NY

Services Provided: (Formerly Episcopal Social Services) To become a Sheltering Arms foster parent or to adopt a child, please contact our home-finding staff at the number below and/or complete our online parent interest form. There is an urgent need for foster homes that can accommodate sibling groups of three or more, homes for teenage mothers with their own infants, and homes for children with emotional and physical needs that require special care. The Children’s Aid Society

Services Provided: The Children’s Aid Society is looking for very special New York City residents in the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island to provide temporary homes, stability and loving care to children whose families are currently unable to care for them. Won’t you consider opening your home and your heart to a child who needs you? We are looking for foster parents for children of all ages, races and religions. We especially need foster parents who can provide for: Brothers and sisters together, Teenagers, teen mothers and children, Children who are medically or physically challenged, and Children with emotional needs


The LGBT Community Center Foster Care Project

Services Provided: The LGBT Foster Care Project is a collaborative project between The Center and the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) to increase the number of homes for all youth, with a special emphasis on LGBTQ youth. Provides support and networking opportunities at The Center, and hosts weekly trainings for current and prospective foster and adoptive parents in collaboration with You Gotta Believe! (YGB). The project also provides training for ACS provider agency staff and support and advocacy opportunities for LGBT youth with foster care experience.


The New York Foundling

Services Provided: The New York Foundling conducts orientations for families who want to learn more about becoming foster parents. We hold orientations in all five boroughs; see website calendar for upcoming sessions. Orientations are approximately 2 hours in length; light refreshments will be served.
