Abbott House

Services Provided: Therapeutic Foster Boarding Home Program (TFBH) provides foster homes for special high-needs children and adolescents birth to 21 years of age. Once you contact Abbott House to become a foster parent, you will be invited to an orientation session which covers foster parenting. You will undergo a screening process which requires a background check, application process, provide medical history and physical exam, home study, and a training process. We also provide group residential services and day programs for developmentally disabled children and adults.


Berkshire Farms Center & Services for Youth – Albany

Services Provided: Berkshire Farm Center is a state wide agency providing foster homes for children in care. Prospective foster parents receive comprehensive training and support through out the certification process. Once certified our homes are supported by an assigned social worker, 24 hour emergency services, financial support to meet the chil(ren)’s needs. Children range in age and special need requirements. KidsPeace – Ulster County Program

Services Provided: Erie County Office of multi-state agency providing community-based foster care program serving children from infancy to age 21. Also provides therapeutic foster care services. See website for NYS fact sheet and online contact form.


Parsons Child & Family Center

Services Provided: Foster Care Programs and Waiting Child Adoption Services. Prospective Parent Course available every 6 weeks. Orientations provided in many locations. Counseling & support services provided to children and resource families. There is no charge for our placement services. Serves Albany, Ulster, Columbia, Warren, Washington, Schenectady, Rennselaer, Greene and Essex counties On-line info form.


Ulster County Department of Social Services

Services Offered: MAPP training held twice a year. Orientation meetings held monthly at DSS office.. Call for specific dates of upcoming meetings. Basic NYS requirements.
