Services Provided: Local chapter of large parent group serving NYC, LI, Hudson Region, and NJ. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, panels and discussion groups. Pre and post adoption workshops available to members. Each chapter has a bookstore which carries an array of books and other materials covering topics on adoption and parenting. EPIC Long Island
Services Provided: The EPIC Clinical Care Outpatient Mental Health Services provides high quality mental health services to all adults and their families treating: anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or exposure to violence, physical, emotional or sexual abuse, the emotional and social impact of chronic medical conditions including seizure disorders and other neurological conditions. EPIC services include: Individual, family, marital and group therapy, comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, psychiatric treatments and psychological testing.
Increased Child and Adolescent Services providing psychotherapist and psychiatry services to children, adolescents and their families now provided at their East Meadow location. Support provided in English and Spanish. Clinic is open six days a week with evening appointments available. Intellectual and devlopmental disability programs include community habilitation, day services, medicid servce coordination, residental services and speciality clinic services.

Families for Russian and Ukranian Adoption (FRUA) Northeast

Families With Children from China of Greater NY
Services Provided: FCC is a non-profit organization supporting families who have adopted daughters and sons from China. Our members include adoptive parents, adoptees and their siblings and other relatives, as well as friends and professionals with connections to adoption. Your annual membership gives you members-only access to resources and information about a multitude of adoption, parenthood and China topics. Hispanic Counseling Center
Services Provided: HCC provides mental health and substance abuse treatment, prevention, education, and support services for families and children in an entirely bilingual, bicultural setting serving Long Island. HCC is a multi-service agency that serves all members of the family in a single point of entry. Services may include individual, group, and family counseling, family mediation, case management, home visits, advocacy, educational workshops, parent support groups and teen drop in center. International Pediatric Health Services, PLLC
Services Provided: Pediatrician with 30 years experience as Adoption medicine specialist with specialty training in infectious diseases. Reviews pre-adoption referrals for international and domestic adoptions and helps families choose adoption options and helps parents find post adoption resources (ie. learning specialists, therapists, and specialists for medical conditions). Jane runs a foundation, WorldIwide Orphans, which has programs for orphans in 5 countries and has 17 years personal experience and expertise in medical and psycho-social issues for institutionalized children from in 14 countries. Services Provided: Family Support Services Coordinators are available at each of OPWDD’s regional Developmental Disabilities Services Offices (DDSOs) to help families access Family Support Services. Family Support Services can help in times of crisis when a family member or loved one becomes ill, or when things get difficult at home for other reasons. Long Island Families Together (LIFT) Adoption Support Group
Services Provided: If you are parenting a child who joined your family through a domestic or international adoption, or who came into your care through the foster care system, then this group is for you! Join us as we discuss topics relating to the unique needs of our children. We will learn therapeutic parenting techniques, and offer practical advice and support to help you and your family be the best you can be! All meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at the LIFT offices. Youth Support group starting summer of 2014. Long Island Parent Center
Services Provided: The mission of the Long Island Parent Center of the Center for Community Inclusion LIU, is to provide parents of children with disabilities, in conjunction with the professionals who service their children, with information and resources necessary to promote meaningful involvement in their children’s education programs. Nassau County Behavioral Health Helpline
Services Provided: Phone helpline services available 24/7 for parents and caregivers experiencing difficulties with children at home, with friends or in school. 516-227-TALK is a collaborative venture between the Nassau County Department of Human Services, Office of Mental Health, Chemical Dependency and Developmental Disabilities Services and Long Island Crisis Center. It also serves residents who struggle with mental illness and/or substance use disorders, providing short-term crisis intervention counseling and support.
All calls are confidential and are answered weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. by County behavioral health professionals. Long Island Crisis Center’s highly-trained crisis intervention counselors answer the Helpline after 5PM and on weekends and holidays. The helpline will guarantee that clients struggling can get support and direction when they decide they are ready – any time – day or night.

Seeds of Love Creative Enrichment Center, Inc.
Services Provided: Seeds of Love in collaboration with Little Steps Great Success, LLC offers early intervention, socialization classes, and integrated programs for children with special needs that incorporate art, music, and movement. We offer Saturday Respite for families, an After School program, and family and parent workshops. Children of all ages welcome.
