Elmcrest Therapeutic Foster Care Program

Services Provided:The Elmcrest Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Program is a specialized program designed to match high needs foster children with specially trained foster parents. We are committed to recruiting, training, and fully supporting our TFC foster parents, children, and birth families.
Once approved, foster parents are continually supported by the Elmcrest TFC staff. We strive to provide constant communication, support, and ongoing trainings to ensure you have all the tools you need to be successful. Through these trainings and ongoing support, we hope to enable our foster parents to provide intense care to the children and adolescents who need our support most.
We work closely with Onondaga County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to match children in foster care with a therapeutic foster home that is the best fit. The goal is always to eliminate multiple foster home placements and to work in partnership with the birth family to find permanency for the child or adolescent. Elmcrest TFC is approved by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. All children in foster care are provided Medicaid.
