Services Provided: Provides child placement programs including domestic infant and international programs. Conducts home studies for prospective families throughout NYS, OH and FL interested in pursuing a domestic agency adoption, private adoption, international adoption and kinship adoption. Home study includes educational classes. International programs include Hungary and Bulgaria. Baker Victory Services

Services Provided: Provides homestudies for some domestic private adoptions. Their focus is on international adoptions. Although they are a licensed foster care agency and can do homestudies for adoption of children in foster care, they do not have a mechanism for doing purchase of service contracts. Therefore, they don’t work with families interested in foster care adoptions.  (There can be exceptions, e.g., a family that has begun their foster care training and decides to adopt instead.) No Spanish language services available.


Buffalo Urban League CAMMAP

Services Provided: CAMMAP recruits, trains, and certifies parents who are interested in adopting legally free children of all ages and ethnicity, focusing specifically on older children, sibling groups, children with other special needs and African American children.  Serves Niagara and Erie Counties.  Will work with families to arrange individual. and group orientation and training sessions to fit their schedule.  No charge for homestudy services for kids in care. Will arrange purchase of service contacts w/ placing agency for waiting kids.  Experienced in inter-jurisdictional placements. Will work w/ interpreter to provide services to Spanish speaking families.


Catholic Charities of Buffalo

Services Provided: They provide 30 hours joint foster/adoption MAPP class 2x yr. in Spring & Fall. Use shorter training program of  5 or 6 wk individual meetings for private adoptions and may for others rather than have family wait  for next MAPP training. $100 adoption application fee and $2,000 for home study services.   Will develop purchase of service contracts with agencies for special needs adoption, no fee to parents.   No Spanish language services available.


Child & Family Services of Erie

Services Provided: One of Western New York’s oldest human service agencies, Child and Family Services fosters safe and healthy environments for children and families in local homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children, Inc., Child and Family Services provides foster care, therapeutic foster care, and comprehensive adoption services for children ages 0 – 21. Pre-certification training for prospective foster and adoptive parents are offered multiple times per year. Gateway-Longview

Services Provided: Provides foster care, therapeutic foster care, respite, preventive respite and adoption services. Pre-certification MAPP/GPS II classes are offered multiple times per year. All individuals and couples are welcome and encouraged to apply. Hillside Children’s Center

Services Provided: Information and referral on all aspects of adoption and foster care and support to concerned individuals and organizations.  Will assist families interested in a waiting child to obtain training and home studies. Services include annual conference, international / domestic homestudies, birthmother support network, search support for birth families, monthly homestudy and information classes, and pre & post adoption parent support groups.  Youth support groups also available.


Jewish Family Services of Buffalo & Erie Co.

Services Provided: NYS authuorized adoption and licensed counseling agency serving the western New York community. Services include: Counseling for Birth Parents, Adoptive Parents and Children,Pre-and Post Placement Home Studies, Home Study Updates, Referral to Adoption Resources, Adoption Seminars and Workshops and Post-Placement Supervision and Counseling.   welcome couples and single individuals of all ages, religions, ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles.


Lutheran Service Society of NY

Services Provided: Local Services: Home Studies, Parenting Education, Post-Placement Reports, Adoptive Parent Support, in the Western New York Area.  Statewide International Adoption program placing children from Poland services: Placing Agency, Hague Education, Dossier Services, for families across the US.


New Directions Youth & Family Services

Services Provided: New Directions Foster Care and Adoption Services provides a temporary, supportive environment for children who either have no family resources, or who, for a variety of reasons cannot live with their birth families. During their time with us, we identify and prepare a permanent home for children freed for adoption, or help birth families heal and develop a safe, nurturing environment to which their children can return. When children are freed for adoption, we actively engage families seeking to adopt and assist them through the process. For those interested in adoption, you must complete the MAPP/GPS II training class.
