Statistics consistently report that 28-40% of the entire population has been sexually abused. Victimization can
happen at any point in an individual’s lifespan, and its consequences can be felt throughout life. Understanding the
impact of sexual abuse from a trauma-informed perspective is imperative. Drawing from an Adverse Childhood
Perspective (ACE) , participants will understand how sexual abuse impacts the various facets of an individual’s
functioning, including physical emotional, and behavioral, throughout the lifespan. Evidence based practices as well
as the latest brain plasticity and neurological research will be presented to facilitate an understanding of how to help
clients heal and transform the trauma. Participants will learn about the correlation between being a victim of sexual
abuse and later causing sexual harm.
