New York Parenting Education Partnership (NYSPEP) Webinar Series:

  • Participants will become familiar with the Nurturing Fathers Programs’ approach to using a group process to help fathers think and learn about fathering.
  • Participants will learn about key strategies that have been found in practice and research to benefit fathers in a parenting class.
  • Participants will be able to distinguish (based on father’s input) things they found valuable in the Nurturing Fathers’ Program.
  • Participants will be able to assess and evaluate the value of the Adult Adolescent parenting Inventory (AAPI-2) that is used to measure the Nurturing Fathers Program.

About the Presenter: Wales Brown C.F.L.E

Wales Brown C.F.L.E has been using the Nurturing Fathers Program in Schenectady, New York for the last few years to provide an educational opportunity for men that want to build stronger connections with their children. Wales was awarded the 2018 Liberty Bell award from the Schenectady County Bar association for his service in developing this volunteer program in Schenectady and the ways it has benefitted underserved fathers in the community. For Wales, he sees this work as being representative of his ethical responsibility as a C.F.L.E. with the National Council on Family Relations to “advocate for laws and policies that reflect our changing knowledge base and the best interest of parents, families and communities.” Less
