In light of the health crisis and the closing of all SUNY schools, the Sullivan County Department of Family Services and the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition will be postponing the Symposium. We apologize for any inconvenience this may pose for you and your families.

 

The Sullivan County Department of Family Services in coordination with the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York is offering a Foster Kinship Symposium at SUNY Sullivan on Friday, March 13, 2020 at 6PM.

This is a free gathering for community, local agencies and kinship/foster families with the goal of connection, education and awareness regarding the benefits of placing children with kin to reduce trauma.

Danielle Skelly AFFCNYKeynote Speaker, Danielle Skelly, Kinship, Foster, Adoptive Parent and Family Support Specialist for the Coalition, will discuss the importance of kin placement in terms of identity and trauma.

Adoptive Father and Executive Director of the Coalition, Pat O’Brien will lead panelists in a Town Hall round table discussion at which participants can share their concerns, ask questions and connect with one another.

A light meal will be provided and childcare is available with advance registration for children ages 4 and up.
