The Possibility Project

Organizer

Two Cents is an original musical drama written and performed by a diverse group of NYC teenagers in foster care. The cast met for seven hours every Tuesday and Thursday since March 2019. Together, they have explored the complicated issues they have encountered in their lives by engaging in workshops and discussions around diversity, leadership, violence prevention, conflict resolution, and social change, and addressing these issues through performing arts activity. Stories and perspectives they shared in these workshops provided the raw material for their show. Two Cents communicates the reality of young people’s lives in NYC – and their vision for change.

The Possibility Project brings teenagers together to transform the negative forces in their lives and communities into positive action. Through a long-term creative process, our teenagers learn to build relationships across differences, resolve the tough conflicts they face, take on their responsibility to others, and lead.

Performances at 7:30 pm at Theatre 80 St. Marks, 80 Saint Marks Place in Manhattan
