Organizer

Liza Bove LCSW-R will train on ‘Working in the Vortex: Assessing and Engaging Families and Couples Impacted by Trauma’.

Drawing upon strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) , Dialectical
Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Structural Family Therapy, participants in this full day workshop will:
 Learn how to rapidly assess primitive complex trauma issues that keep families and couple entrenched in negative or
circular coping patters.
 Utilize metaphor and system rebalancing to allow clients to move through areas of impasse, with chronic or chronically
acute family and couples systems.
 Discover how to tune into one’s higher self-intuition to make wise choices in interventions and the timing of them.
 Learn to make friends with your own internal fears that may prevent you from doing your best work.
 Utilize trauma-informed techniques to provide families and couples with a path to forward movement.
 Identify a client’s strengths, supports, world view, and spirituality to aide in this process of discrete steps

About the Presenter

Liza Bove’, LCSW-R, is trained in Minuchin Structural Family Therapy, DBT, and CBT, with a focus on trauma-informed work with clients and family systems with chronic, complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Over the last twenty years, Ms. Bove’ has worked with some of the most challenging couples/families in the area and has learned that under the challenges typically lies an individual or couple who operates out of fear rather than inherent strength. She maintains a private practice in Goshen and High Falls and is an Adjunct Faculty and Field Liaison for SUNY School of Social Welfare.
