Carla Brathwaite has been an educator in the New York Public School System for the past 21 years spanning both Middle School and High School.   Currently she is a Supervisor of Special Education, Science and Physical Education.  She’s earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree from New York University in Chemistry and Secondary Education grades 7 to 12.  In addition, Carla has earned two Master’s of Science Degrees from Touro University- one in Education and Special Education grades K – 12 and a Master’s in Education Administration and Supervision.

As a child, Carla had foster siblings in her family and always knew she too would become a foster parent.  In 2018 Carla became a licensed foster parent and accepted her 1st foster child placement.   In addition to being a foster parent, she serves on the Foster Parent Advisory Board of JCCA Foster Care Agency.  As an Advisory Board member she is a liaison bringing the concerns of Foster Parents to the attention of JCCA Leadership.  In addition she is the co-facilitator of the Foster Parent messaging group, ensuring that Foster Parents receive timely information about resources, community events and training opportunities.
