Loren Nowak is the Permanency Resource Coordinator (St. Lawrence County and Akwesasne St. Regis Mohawk tribe) for the post-adoptive post-guardianship program “Family Forever!”, delivered by the Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country. (CCCCNC, Inc.)  Loren has a master’s degree in education, information technology and media management from SUNY Potsdam and holds permanent teaching certifications in the areas of Music K-12 and Educational Technology Specialist K-12 which he worked in ten years each before coming to adoption and preventative child welfare.

He has served as a foster parent liaison and mentor for foster parents in St. Lawrence County, where he and his partner Sara have fostered over fifty children and adopted three boys and a girl from foster care. Together, Loren and Sara founded “Parenting Together: St. Lawrence County” (an AFFCNY supported group) – a FaceBook-based community for foster, kinship, post-adoptive and post guardianship caregivers which emphasizes partnership between birth parents and other caregivers who work together in the shared goal of rehabilitation and reunification when possible.  Additionally, he continues to serve on the Advisory Committee for the Board of Directors of AFFCNY.
