“It took me many years to break my silence to even reveal that I was adopted. I now understand that I have to use my story to be the vessel for others to heal and share their stories. With the show, I have been able to normalize the conversation surrounding foster care and adoption “.

Writer, producer, performer, advocate, Jeffrey Brown is the real life story and creative force behind Th3 Adopt3d On3. A powerful one man play, exposing the complexities and struggles of a young black man in the foster care system, through his adoption at age 13 and beyond.

Jeff Brown entered foster care when he was just 3 and spent 10 years moving into different homes until he was adopted by The Browns at age 13. This heartbreaking and difficult time in his life has been the inspiration for his one man show, Th3 Adopt3d On3, which he has been performing to sold out audiences over the past year. Jeff has found that gaining the courage to tell his story has not only helped him, but it has started important and necessary courageous  conversations within the community and beyond.

Jeffrey operates from the philosophy that true healing lies in the acceptance of all that is and is passionate about teaching that even without knowing exactly where you are from, “you can still be confidently, powerfully, exactly who you are”.

As an advocate with a vision to forward the conversation of the wholistic wellbeing of children in foster care, he uses his voice powerfully within his community. Serving on diverse panels and group discussions, mentoring youth currently in the foster care system, teaching music as a creative outlet and a method of inspiration and healing and even leading initiatives to help feed and clothe the homeless.

Jeffrey is the founder and CEO of @JeffBrwn Productions and Gr8risk Solutions. He has successfully toured as a comedian, created songs and jingles for commercials and acted in short films, winning accolades for best short film in NYC Web Fest.
