Adoption & Foster Care Therapist Network (AFCTN) Service Directory

As a program of the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York,  the Adoption & Foster Care Therapist Network (AFCTN) seeks to enhance the ability of individuals impacted by adoption, kinship and foster care to have access to mental health professionals who have a clinical expertise in adoption, foster care, trauma, and/or attachment issues. It seeks to achieve its mission by promoting clinical training opportunities for mental health professionals and to have an accessible list of adoption competent mental health professionals to facilitate access to mental health professionals for individuals seeking mental health services.

Find family counseling and therapy services in New York on the Adoption and Foster Care Therapist Network (AFCTN) directory for therapeutic services, adoption counselors and psychologists and post placement support.  

Featured listings are Partner Therapists through the Family Adoption Competent Therapy (FACT) Funding Program.

The FACT Funding Program is our pilot initiative launched in 2022. Through various funding sources, the Coalition provides New York youth and families with therapy sessions through our vetted AFCTN membership; New York State therapists proven competent in adoption, attachment, and trauma issues.
