Internships at the CoalitionĀ
At the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York, we love to encourage passionate and motivated students to engage in our internship opportunities. As an intern, you have the opportunity to learn about and engage in the world of adoption, foster care, and kinship through our staff and programs. Our internship is unpaid; however, most schools offer course credit.
Ā *Please note that events may be virtual due to the hybrid nature of our current programming and there is an expectation thatĀ internsĀ will be able to complete work virtually, as needed.
Interning at the Coalition provides a variety of benefits to students including:
- observation of and connection with child welfare professionals
- Ā learning about the issues which are currently impacting adoptive, foster, and kinship families through programs and trainings
- the opportunity to conduct research and develop training to be used by professionals in the field as well as the families we serve
We offerĀ internshipĀ and volunteer opportunities in the Spring, Summer, and Fall! (2-3 students per semester)
The Coalition values determined, independent, flexible individuals who are able to commit to one semester and interested in making a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families across NYS.
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you!
Ready to join us? To apply, send in your completed Application Form, a resume, any course requirements, the proposed length of internship, and scheduling possibilities toĀ Amy Drayer (amy@affcny.org) and Amanda Calo (amanda@affcny.org) to complete the application process.
