In response to national events in 2020, the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York made a commitment to focus both staff time and resources to further explore our own awareness of racism in our society, commit to being an anti-racist organization in both words and actions and, most importantly, to serve as role models. We committed to sharing these vital teachings with the families we serve in order to benefit the children in their care. 

In order to provide the most accurate and helpful items, our resources subcommittee has been working on both curating the best resources and creating the best way to get the information to our families who need it. The Understanding Race and Racism Toolkits have been curated to provide the most needed and important messages and information to our families in a simple and effective manner. Each vital issue is expanded on though addition resources allowing families to dive deeper into subjects as needed.
