Join LIAF for the 7th LGBTeach Forum… EdCamp-style!

Come ready to learn from each other, listen to concerns and questions, and lead from your experiences to create more inclusive educational climates for students, staff, and families in schools and communities across Long Island and beyond.

As has been done in the past, we will kick-off our time together with a special keynote speaker before we launch into various breakout sessions designed to make us all think critically about the needs of our school communities and the people we work with everyday. This year’s keynote speaker will be Dr. Nichelle L. Rivers, an inspirational educator, artist, and activist. EdCamps are the “un-conference” driven by all who attend – what do you want to explore and what do you want to talk about? How will your voice benefit the LGBTQ+ students in our schools? What do you do to make your school community more inclusive? Bring your questions and an open-mind; that is all you need for this LGBTeach Edcamp.

As an organization, LGBTeach offers workshops and presentations that foster inclusivity, awareness, and reflection to help others embrace diversity and promote equitable and affirming communities. This EdCamp expands upon that mission with the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and gender nonconforming community at heart.
