In her book, The Primal Wound: Understanding the Adopted Child, Nancy Newton Verrier discusses how the early trauma of separation from the birth mother affects an adopteeā€™s ability to form healthy relationships.

During this two-hour writing workshop, Heather Schultz will lead an intimate discussion on Part 3 of this book followed by healthy writing exercises to address pain from the issues of rejection, trust, intimacy, loyalty, guilt and shame, power and control, and identity.Ā  Familiarity with the bookā€™s themes and content (chapters) is recommended.Ā  Attendance at Part 1 and 2 is not required.

Thanks to a donor, we will be able to reimburse the purchase of the book to workshop participants. Simply bring your receipt for a physical or digital copy of the book to the event.
