Services Provided: Local chapter of large parent group serving NYC, LI, Hudson Region, and NJ. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, panels and discussion groups. Pre and post adoption workshops available to members. Each chapter has a bookstore which carries an array of books and other materials covering topics on adoption and parenting. Families With Children from China of Greater NY
Services Provided: FCC is a non-profit organization supporting families who have adopted daughters and sons from China. Our members include adoptive parents, adoptees and their siblings and other relatives, as well as friends and professionals with connections to adoption. Your annual membership gives you members-only access to resources and information about a multitude of adoption, parenthood and China topics. As a member you will receive regular e-mail updates announcing the latest events, articles and news of interest to our families.To join, first select a membership level and then fill out the form asking for basic information for you and if applicable, your partner. Hispanic Counseling Center
Services Provided: HCC provides mental health and substance abuse treatment, prevention, education, and support services for families and children in an entirely bilingual, bicultural setting serving Long Island. HCC is a multi-service agency that serves all members of the family in a single point of entry. Services may include individual, group, and family counseling, family mediation, case management, home visits, advocacy, educational workshops, parent support groups and teen drop in center. All services are available to the Hispanic community and all individuals and families without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, or economic status. Long Island DDSO – OPWDD
Services Provided: Family Support Services Coordinators are available at each of OPWDD’s regional Developmental Disabilities Services Offices (DDSOs) to help families access Family Support Services. Family Support Services can help in times of crisis when a family member or loved one becomes ill, or when things get difficult at home for other reasons. Support services may include: information and referral, family and individual counseling, recreation, after-school programs, support groups, transportation and specialized equipment and home modifications.

Long Island Adoption Support Group
Services Provided: Peer support groups for pre-adoptive families, ongoing post adoption group support and kids groups. Meetings are held in various locations on Long Island
Long Island Families Together (LIFT) Adoption Support Group
Services Provided: If you are parenting a child who joined your family through a domestic or international adoption, or who came into your care through the foster care system, then this group is for you! Join us as we discuss topics relating to the unique needs of our children. We will learn therapeutic parenting techniques, and offer practical advice and support to help you and your family be the best you can be! All meetings are typically held on the first Thursday of each month, 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm, at the LIFT offices. Youth Support group starting summer of 2014. Suffolk County Foster Parents Advisory Council (F-PAC)
Services Provided: Local Foster and Adoptive Parent Support Group. Monthly meetings, bimonthly newsletter, memberships, “Kids for Kids” social club, “Buddy Up on the Phone” group, moms of kids under 3 “Breakfast Buddies” group, lending library, friendship circle, training and educational programs, MAPP mentors program, “One-to-One” help line, prayer group and sick call, scholarship program for graduating foster children. You Gotta Believe! Parent Support Groups
Services Provided: Agency facilitated support and discussion groups open to all families in all five boroughs and Long island.
