We are committed to continuing our work as a stabilizing force for adoptive and foster families throughout this pandemic and beyond.

The past few weeks have been an adjustment period for everyone. As social distancing measures become the norm across the world, many are adjusting to a level of isolation they’ve never felt before. For children who have experienced early childhood trauma, these feelings of isolation, fear and anxiety have always been there. This at-risk population is even more vulnerable and their parents need support as these children act out their fear, have trouble sleeping and have difficulty focusing—more so now without the special interventions that help them feel successful at school.
Through our 24-hour helpline, parent support groups and work with the AGAPE program, the Coalition can bridge the gap for NY families. Though no one knows what the future holds, we will hold fast to our mission to give foster and adoptive families a voice through our continued support and advocacy.
