Advisory Council

Megan is a Certified Adoptive Parent and Foster Parent in Western New York
State. She is an Attorney who has represented children, impacted parents, foster
parents and CPS in Family Court. From Monroe County’s Rochester, Megan graduated
from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University (in 2015) as a Pro Bono
Scholar. Megan’s career has been focused primarily on child welfare litigation and she
has experience advocating for each of the stakeholders within the system: the local
child welfare organization, impacted parents, foster parents and the children. In 2018
Megan was certified as a foster/adoptive parent. In the past four years, she has cared
for children age 2 months to 12 years with varying needs. She joined Monroe County’s
Foster Care Advisory Board and looks for other opportunities to help improve the
system by sharing her experience and knowledge with other foster parents trying to
navigate the complex child welfare system always through a lens of doing what is in the
best interest of the children who are currently in the State’s care.
