Adoption is woven throughout Kitty’s life.
As an adopted person, she was placed with her adoptive parents when she was three weeks old. Then, she experienced relinquishment first hand after surrendering her firstborn to adoption over thirty years ago and became a birth mother. She and her husband later became a foster parents and then, five years ago, Kitty became an adoptive mother as well. She has experienced reunion from both the perspective of an adoptee and a birth parent.
Kitty and her husband have one daughter, three sons, two grandchildren and another on the way. Her home is still open for foster care.
Prior to receiving a position as Family Support Specialist with the Coaltion, Kitty worked seven years at Elmira College as an executive assistant.
