Much thanks and appreciation goes out to all the foster parents throughout New York State who took the time to respond as well as gratitude to all the helpers , agencies and organizations that assisted in spreading the word and getting the survey out there! Thanks to all the combined efforts, the Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York was able to capture over 650 responses!Ā

Representing the Voice of NY’s Foster Parents

The Coalition is thrilled to be working with the incredible adoption researcher, Madelyn Freundlich, to table the results and author the final report.Ā  The plan is to be able to publish the findings in November. We are hoping that the report will provide a realistic snap shot of what foster families across the state are facing in these challenging times and allow us to identify opportunities to improve support and services. Ā

It is always our mission and intention to use any information we gather to support and advocate for families in New York. Over 200 families took the extra time to provide thoughtful commentary identifying both the unique challenges and positive adaptations they personally have faced in the last few months. Once completed and integrated into the report together, they weave a story that needs to be told.
