A best practice training for foster and kinship caregivers; child welfare professionals.

Why is it that some children are deeply impacted by neglect and trauma while others seem to bounce back more easily?  We say that those who bounce back are more resilient, but what does that mean?

This training for educators focuses on what school professionals should know about foster care and adoption. We will discuss the effects of trauma and toxic stress on students and outline specific strategies to build connections and support for these students. The training will include a discussion on how incorporate Adverse Childhood Experience (ACES) into interactions with students and how to create a trauma-informed classroom and transformational school.

  • Length: 3 to 5 hours
  • Subject Areas: Trauma and Resiliency
  • Facilitate by: Renee Hettich, Amy Drayer and Coalition staff
