A Free, In-Person,  Parent Support Group for adoptive, foster, or kinship families in the Hudson Valley ~ Encompassing Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester Counties with a location easily accessible to those in Dutchess and Ulster Counties!

We’re thrilled to announce the return of our in-person Hudson Valley support groups for adoptive, foster, and kinship caregivers, facilitated by HV AGAPE staff. Each facilitator brings their own lens of lived experience (foster parent, adoptive parent, adult adoptee). 

Join us for our monthly Hudson Valley Connection LIVE Dutchess and Ulster County event, where we’ll delve into crucial topics such as:

• understanding our children’s behaviors

• fostering parental resilience

• tackling school challenges

• addressing social and emotional hurdles

• exploring therapeutic versus traditional parenting approaches

We welcome all parents and caregivers seeking a compassionate and understanding community to connect, share, and grow together!

Typically meeting the first Monday of every month (unless there is a holiday conflict)

2024 Schedule:

• Mon. May 6th from 6:30-8:30 pm

• Mon. June 3rd from 6:30-8:30 pm

• Mon. July 1st from 6:30-8:30 pm

• Mon. August 5th from 6:30-8:30 pm

• No meeting in September due to Labor Day

• Mon. October 7th from 6:30-8:30 pm

• Mon. November 4th from 6:30-8:30 pm

• Mon. December 2nd from 6:30-8:30 pm

Where: Dutchess County Department of Behavioral & Community Health, 230 North Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601 (Training Room C-104).

What to Expect:

During the first hour (6:30-7:30 pm) we will provide a brief training on a pre-determined topic. The second hour (7:30-8:30 pm) will be an opportunity for participants to share what’s on their mind.

Once you have registered, we use, MailChimp, our email communication system to send out links, materials, updates and vital information.
