Getting Started: Adopting Older Kids and Youth (A-OKAY) Orientation
You may have been dreaming about adopting a child or maybe you made up your mind overnight. But what does fostering or adopting a young person really mean? Attend an orientation class and learn more.
Our orientation, class 1 of our 10-week classes – Adopting Older Kids and Youth (A-OKAY) – is when you find out about the ins and outs of the foster care system, as well as YGB values and focus.
We offer our 10-week parenting experience in multiple locations throughout New York City and on Long Island. Once you register for and attend Class #1, you may continue your remaining 9 classes at the location that is most convenient for you.
Our parenting classes focus on the needs of older youth in care, yet provide the same certification as other GPSII/MAPP classes. Come hear from young people who connected to their families as teens and young adults — and from parents who have made an unconditional lifetime commitment.
Please call our office at 718-372-3003 Monday through Friday to speak with someone about your interest and to register for Class #1. You may also inquire via email at info@yougottabelieve.org or register online here.
