Helping the Teen Years Go Smoother for All

The teen years are often tough for all kids and adoption does add another layer. While we all know that parents are encouraged to communicate with their children about adoption, many adopted teenagers are reluctant to share their innermost feelings. Some teens may not have even have the words to describe how they feel.  Having peers their own age who share the those same questions and shared experiences really can really be helpful to opening the doors to better communication. And as teens communicate with peers and mentors, they have their feelings validated and it often becomes easier for them to talk with their parents more easily.

Younger Tweens and Teens aged 10 to 14 meet earlier from 5 to 6:30 PM.

Older Teens ages 15 to 18 meets on the same nights, but later from 6:30 to 7:30 PM
